Knit the main part of this tote-style bag with a worsted weight yarn that will shrink when washed. After felting add a turtleneck with a favorite yarn. Pattern includes detailed instructions for a reinforced lining. Handles are knit and then felted around a core to give them stability.

Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn. 660 yards for felted portion. The sample used 3 skeins of Cascade 220 (220 yards/100g skein): 2 skeins for the body of the bag and 1 skein for the base and handles. The "turtle neck" portion can be knit from any yarn. The sample used 1 skein of Cascade Pastaza (132 yards/100g skein).

Needles: 24" long circular needle in size 10.5US. Double point needles in size 10.5US. The turtleneck portion will use two 24" long circular needles; one each in the size recommended on the yarn band and a second one in a larger size.

Finished measurements: Base is 5.5" x 11.5". Height is 8.5"
